Vallnord ski resort in Andorra

Not only is Vallnord one of the most popular skiing destinations in Andorra, but it is also the perfect resort to try if you want to practise skiing on easy slopes and get lessons from the best instructors around, or enjoy a challenge on some its more taxing pistes.

Vallnord is located in north-west Andorra and is divided into two main skiing sectors: Pal-Arinsal and Ordino-Arcalis. It is separated by 2,776m high Pic d’Arcalis mountain, but the two sectors are linked by the free Bus Neu Vallnord and the journey takes around 90 minutes. However, hired car is the quickest method of getting around as a trip between the two ski areas can take around 20 minutes. Altogether, the resort comprises of 66 runs, 41 ski lifts and 13 mountain restaurants.

Pal and Arinsal are remarkably different villages despite being just three miles from each other. At 1780m high, Pal offers skiers a varied range of tree-lined runs which are quite unique of the Andorran region; it is a quiet, charming village offering peace and tranquillity. Neighbouring Pal is Arinsal, a town which stands at 1500m and it has what Pal does not offer....making the two villages a great combination. Arinsal offers tall and narrow slopes with no greenery. It is renowned for its active nightlife scene with lots of popular bars such as the Rocky Mountain Bar and the Surf Bar. These villages are great ski areas for beginners and intermediate skiers.

Ordino-Arcalis are two ski villages in Vallnord and they cover an altitude of between 1940m and 2620m. Likewise, these villages offer slopes to suit any skier, as well as off-piste skiing. This area has a number of apres-ski attractions such as a sports centre and connections with Andorra la Vella where you can take advantage of duty-free shopping, cafes and bars.
